Laurie and his wife, Kirsten, returned home to Atlantic Canada in 2014 to open Pop-A-Lock Maritimes. They saw an opportunity to offer commercial locksmithing solutions to facility and property managers operating in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. At the same time, they recognized the impact of the internet of things (IoT) would have on home security as electronic locks, doorbells, CCTV cameras and other sensors integrate together to provide 24-hour surveillance for homeowners.
Relationships have been key to their success. For instance, most drivers believe they must order keys from a dealer. Everyday Laurie and his team of automotive locksmiths cut and program car keys for clients like CAA, ADESA Halifax, Manheim Halifax and Autoport. By carrying a large inventory of transponder, remote head keys and smart keys, Pop-A-Lock is able to cut and program replacement keys right onsite. Most makes and models of passenger cars, SUVs, trucks and motorcycles are covered.
Each bringing over 25 years of customer service experience to their role, Laurie and Kirsten strive to ensure that Pop-A-Lock provides fast, reliable service. Pop-A-Lock is available in Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford or Sackville.
Believers of the need for community involvement, that are members of the the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Association of Locksmiths of America (ALOA). They are product to offer the PAL Saves Kids Program where Pop-A-Lock provides free car door unlocking when a child or pet is accidently locked inside.
